SHRINE OF OUR BLESSED LADY OF THE ISLAND – SOLIN

Solin is a small town near the estuary of the Jadro river, 5 km north-east of Split, and at the same time, one of the spiritual centres of the Splitsko-Dalmatinska County. In the more recent times, high quality horticultural and urbanistic works were performed in Solin, such that the entire town resembles a public garden, while the promenade along the Jadro River, in its natural and monumental ambience is of exceptional value, drawing many walkers and excursion makers. Apart from Salona, it is one of the most important ancient and early Christian localities in the world, while the town is also recognisable by the Shrine of Our Blessed Lady of the Island, where the church holiday of Mala Gospa (8th of Spetember) (The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary) is celebrated each year, this being the anniversary of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

SHRINE OF OUR BLESSED LADY OF SINJ – SINJ

Sinj is a town in the central part of Dalmatinska Zagora, located along the western border of the spacious Sinj meadow, at the intersection of important traffic routes that lead inland from the coast. With its primary and secondary schools, museums and the Franciscan monastery, as well as the Shrine of Our Blessed Lady of Sinj, it is the major educational and cultural centre of the Cetinska Krajina. Sinj is also one of the most important spiritual centres in Croatia, and in the Shrine of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj, the faithful have been coming for more than three centuries, specially celebrating the church holiday of Velika Gospa on the 15th of August. At the holiday festivities of Velika Gospa in Sinj – the largest shrine dedicated to Mary in Dalmatia, each year, several tens of thousands of faithful gather. All come to pay homage to the Miraculous Lady of Sinj and her gold crowned painting, brought to Sinj by the Franciscan monks from Rama back in 1687, fleeing with the populace before the Turks.

VEPRIC – MAKARSKA

Croatian Our Lady of the Lourdes shrine was founded in 1908 by the bishop Dr. Juraj Carić. The natural cave and the entire landscape of small hills, vegetation and a stream is reminiscent of the Lourdes, where in 1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary revealed herself to Bernardici Soubirous 18 times.
Chapel with a sacristy, an altar, confession rooms, stations of the Cross, a retreat centre and procession paths were erected at the shrine. Due to its natural splendour and serenity, this shrine is well visited throughout the year and especially during the pilgrimage days: 11.02, 25.03, 15.08, and 8.09.
